01 · The Opportunity

Creating employee schedules is more complex than filling a calendar. Managers balance availability, leave requests, staffing levels, labour costs, and constant operational changes. SynchroShift was built to bring those workflows into one platform, making scheduling faster, clearer, and easier to manage.

02 · Building the Product

SynchroShift started with a simple question: could a product designer build and ship a real SaaS product using modern AI tools? Rather than stopping at prototypes, I owned the product from concept to production. I defined the product direction, designed the experience, collaborated with AI during development, tested every release, and refined the platform through continuous iteration. AI accelerated implementation, but every product decision, workflow, and trade-off remained my responsibility.

AI accelerated execution. Product thinking remained the competitive advantage.

03 · Building Beyond Design

As the product grew, every design decision affected another part of the system. Scheduling influenced permissions, onboarding depended on authentication, and reporting relied on the underlying data model. Designing the interface was only one part of building a reliable product.

04 · Designing an Operational System

SynchroShift was designed as a connected operational platform rather than a collection of screens. Scheduling, employee management, reporting, permissions, requests, and AI assistance work together in one consistent experience, reducing complexity without adding unnecessary friction.

05 · Built for Real Teams

Every workflow was designed around how managers and employees actually work. Authentication, workspace management, invitations, permissions, and reporting were treated as core product experiences rather than supporting features.

06 · AI Assistant

The AI assistant was designed to support decision-making, not replace it. It helps managers understand schedules and operational data while keeping every business-critical decision under human control.

07 · Shipping Production Software

Shipping SynchroShift meant solving much more than interface design. Authentication, backend architecture, deployment, testing, and release management all became part of delivering a reliable product that people can use today.

08 · Continuous Iteration

Every release uncovered opportunities to simplify workflows, improve usability, and strengthen the platform. Rather than treating the product as finished, each iteration focused on solving real problems discovered during development and testing.

09 · Product Highlights

SynchroShift brings essential tools together in one platform to simplify workforce operations.

10 · Outcome

SynchroShift became a working SaaS platform that combines workforce scheduling, employee management, reporting, collaboration, and AI-assisted guidance in one product. More importantly, it demonstrates my ability to take a product from idea to production while balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.

11 · Reflection

SynchroShift reinforced that great products are shaped by decisions, not tools. AI accelerated the process, but building a reliable product still required clear priorities, thoughtful trade-offs, and continuous learning. More than anything, the project expanded my role from designing interfaces to building and improving complete digital products.
